Wilver Dornel Stargell

Willie Stargell was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 82.4 percent of the vote that year. Willie was a Leftfielder and First Baseman who played in the majors for 21 years playing in 2,360 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He batted 7,927 times from the left side with 2,232 hits, 475 home runs, 1,540 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .282. He was born on March 6, 1940 in Earlsboro, OK. His nickname was "Pops." Willie went to his Field of Dreams on April 9, 2001.
