Willie Mays was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 94.7 percent of the vote that year. Willie was a Centerfielder who played in the majors for 22 years playing in 2,992 games. He batted 10,881 times from the right side with 3,283 hits, 660 home runs, 1,903 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .302. He was born on May 6, 1931 in Westfield, AL. His nickname is "Say Hey Kid."
