Walter Perry Johnson

Walter Johnson was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 83.6 percent of the vote that year. Walter was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 21 years playing in 934 games. Walter pitched right-handed in 802 games totalling 5,914 innings with 3,509 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.17. He batted 2,324 times from the right side with 547 hits, 24 home runs, 255 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .235. He was born on November 6, 1887 in Humboldt, KS. His nickname was "Barney or The Big Train." Walter went to his Field of Dreams on December 10, 1946.
