Walter Alston was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983 as a Manager by the Veteran's Committee. Walter was a First Baseman who played in the majors for 1 years playing in 1 games for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was born on December 1, 1911 in Venice, OH. His nickname was "Smokey." Walter went to his Field of Dreams on October 1, 1984.
