Waite Hoyt was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969 as a Player by the Veteran's Committee. Waite was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 21 years playing in 674 games. Waite pitched right-handed in 674 games totalling 3,762 innings with 1,206 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 3.59. He batted 1,287 times from the right side with 255 hits, 0 home runs, 100 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .198. He was born on September 9, 1899 in Brooklyn, NY. His nickname was "Schoolboy." Waite went to his Field of Dreams on August 25, 1984.
