Ty Cobb was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 98.2 percent of the vote that year. Ty was a Centerfielder who played in the majors for 24 years playing in 3,034 games. Ty pitched right-handed in 3 games totalling 5 innings with 0 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 3.60. He batted 11,434 times from the left side with 4,189 hits, 117 home runs, 1,933 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .366. He was born on December 18, 1886 in Narrows, GA. His nickname was "The Georgia Peach." Ty went to his Field of Dreams on July 17, 1961.
