Tony Perez was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 77.2 percent of the vote that year. Tony was a First Baseman and Third Baseman who played in the majors for 23 years playing in 2,777 games. He batted 9,778 times from the right side with 2,732 hits, 379 home runs, 1,652 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .279. He was born on May 14, 1942 in Camaguey, Camaguey. His nickname is "Big Dog."
