Ted Williams was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 93.4 percent of the vote that year. Ted was a Leftfielder who played in the majors for 19 years playing in 2,292 games for the Boston Red Sox. Ted pitched right-handed in 1 games totalling 2 innings with 1 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 4.50. He batted 7,706 times from the left side with 2,654 hits, 521 home runs, 1,839 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .344. He was born on August 30, 1918 in San Diego, CA. His nickname was "The Kid, Teddy Ballgame, Splendid Splinter or Thumper." Ted went to his Field of Dreams on July 5, 2002.
