Ted Simmons was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020 as a Player by the Veteran's Committee. Ted was a Catcher and First Baseman who played in the majors for 21 years playing in 2,456 games. He batted 8,680 times as a switch hitter with 2,472 hits, 248 home runs, 1,389 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .285. He was born on August 9, 1949 in Highland Park, MI. His nickname is "Simba."
