Theodore Amar Lyons

Ted Lyons was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 86.5 percent of the vote that year. Ted was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 21 years playing in 705 games for the Chicago White Sox. Ted pitched right-handed in 594 games totalling 4,161 innings with 1,073 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 3.67. He batted 1,563 times as a switch hitter with 364 hits, 5 home runs, 149 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .233. He was born on December 28, 1900 in Lake Charles, LA. His nickname was "Sunday Teddy." Ted went to his Field of Dreams on July 25, 1986.
