Wyatt “Sonny” Boswell began his pro basketball career at 18 with Jesse Owens’ Olympians in 1937. Known for his elite shooting, he joined the Harlem Globetrotters in 1938 and helped lead them to victory in the 1940 World Professional Basketball Tournament, sinking the game-winning free throw against the New York Rens. Boswell later played for the Rens, broke barriers with the Chicago Studebaker Flyers in the NBL, and appeared in seven straight World Pro Tournaments.
