Sandy Koufax was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 86.9 percent of the vote that year. Sandy was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 12 years playing in 397 games for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Los Angeles Dodgers. Sandy pitched left-handed in 397 games totalling 2,324 innings with 2,396 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.76. He batted 776 times from the right side with 75 hits, 2 home runs, 28 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .097. He was born on December 30, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY. His nickname is "The Left Arm of God."
