Rogers Hornsby

Rogers Hornsby was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1942 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 78.1 percent of the vote that year. Rogers was a Second Baseman, Shortstop and Third Baseman who played in the majors for 23 years playing in 2,259 games. He batted 8,173 times from the right side with 2,930 hits, 301 home runs, 1,584 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .358. He was born on April 27, 1896 in Winters, TX. His nickname was "Rajah." Rogers went to his Field of Dreams on January 5, 1963.
