Rod Carew was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 90.5 percent of the vote that year. Rod was a First Baseman and Second Baseman who played in the majors for 19 years playing in 2,469 games for the Minnesota Twins and California Angels. He batted 9,315 times from the left side with 3,053 hits, 92 home runs, 1,015 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .328. He was born on October 1, 1945 in Gatun, Canal Zone.
