Red was a Second Baseman and Leftfielder who played in the majors for 19 years playing in 2,216 games. He batted 8,479 times as a switch hitter with 2,449 hits, 84 home runs, 773 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .289. He was born on February 2, 1923 in Germantown, IL.
