Walter James Vincent Maranville
Rabbit Maranville was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1954 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 82.9 percent of the vote that year. Rabbit was a Shortstop and Second Baseman who played in the majors for 23 years playing in 2,670 games for the Boston Braves. He batted 10,078 times from the right side with 2,605 hits, 28 home runs, 884 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .258. He was born on November 11, 1891 in Springfield, MA. Rabbit went to his Field of Dreams on January 5, 1954.
