Pie Traynor was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1948 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 76.9 percent of the vote that year. Pie was a Third Baseman who played in the majors for 17 years playing in 1,941 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He batted 7,559 times from the right side with 2,416 hits, 58 home runs, 1,273 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .320. He was born on November 11, 1898 in Framingham, MA. Pie went to his Field of Dreams on March 16, 1972.
