
Mordecai Peter Centennial Brown
Mordecai Brown was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1949 as a Player by the Old Timers. Mordecai was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 14 years playing in 493 games. Mordecai pitched right-handed in 481 games totalling 3,172 innings with 1,375 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.06. He batted 1,143 times as a switch hitter with 235 hits, 2 home runs, 73 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .206. He was born on October 19, 1876 in Nyesville, IN. His nickname was "Three Finger or Miner." Mordecai went to his Field of Dreams on February 14, 1948.
