Juan Antonio (Sanchez) Marichal

Juan Marichal was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 83.7 percent of the vote that year. Juan was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 16 years playing in 475 games. Juan pitched right-handed in 471 games totalling 3,507 innings with 2,303 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.89. He batted 1,221 times from the right side with 202 hits, 4 home runs, 75 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .165. He was born on October 20, 1937 in Laguna Verde, Monte Cristi. His nickname is "Manito, Dominican Dandy or Mar."
