Johnny Bench was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 96.4 percent of the vote that year. Johnny was a Catcher, Third Baseman and First Baseman who played in the majors for 17 years playing in 2,158 games for the Cincinnati Reds. He batted 7,658 times from the right side with 2,048 hits, 389 home runs, 1,376 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .267. He was born on December 7, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK. His nickname is "Little General."
