James Hoyt Wilhelm

Hoyt Wilhelm was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1985 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 83.8 percent of the vote that year. Hoyt was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 21 years playing in 1,070 games. Hoyt pitched right-handed in 1,070 games totalling 2,254 innings with 1,610 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.52. He batted 432 times from the right side with 38 hits, 1 home runs, 21 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .088. He was born on July 26, 1922 in Huntersville, NC. His nickname was "Old Sarge." Hoyt went to his Field of Dreams on August 23, 2002.
