George Harold Sisler

George Sisler was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 85.8 percent of the vote that year. George was a First Baseman who played in the majors for 15 years playing in 2,055 games. George pitched left-handed in 24 games totalling 111 innings with 63 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.35. He batted 8,267 times from the left side with 2,812 hits, 102 home runs, 1,178 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .340. He was born on March 24, 1893 in Manchester, OH. His nickname was "Gorgeous George." George went to his Field of Dreams on March 26, 1973.
