George Davis was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998 as a Player by the Veteran's Committee. George was a Shortstop, Third Baseman and Centerfielder who played in the majors for 20 years playing in 2,372 games. George pitched right-handed in 3 games totalling 4 innings with 4 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 15.75. He batted 9,045 times as a switch hitter with 2,665 hits, 73 home runs, 1,440 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .295. He was born on August 23, 1870 in Cohoes, NY. George went to his Field of Dreams on October 17, 1940.
