Eppa Rixey

Eppa Rixey was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1963 as a Player by the Veteran's Committee. Eppa was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 21 years playing in 694 games for the Cincinnati Reds. Eppa pitched left-handed in 692 games totalling 4,494 innings with 1,350 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 3.15. He batted 1,522 times from the right side with 291 hits, 3 home runs, 111 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .191. He was born on May 3, 1891 in Culpeper, VA. His nickname was "Jephtha." Eppa went to his Field of Dreams on February 28, 1963.
