Ed Walsh was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946 as a Player by the Old Timers. Ed was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 14 years playing in 459 games. Ed pitched right-handed in 430 games totalling 2,964 innings with 1,736 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 1.82. He batted 1,085 times from the right side with 210 hits, 3 home runs, 68 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .194. He was born on May 14, 1881 in Plains, PA. His nickname was "Big Ed." Ed went to his Field of Dreams on May 26, 1959.
