
Jay Hanna Dean
Dizzy Dean was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 79.2 percent of the vote that year. Dizzy was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 12 years playing in 325 games. Dizzy pitched right-handed in 317 games totalling 1,967 innings with 1,163 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 3.02. He batted 717 times from the right side with 161 hits, 8 home runs, 76 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .225. He was born on January 16, 1910 in Lucas, AR. His nickname was "The Great Man." Dizzy went to his Field of Dreams on July 17, 1974.
