
David Americo (Arias) Ortiz
David Ortiz was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 77.9 percent of the vote that year. David was a Designated Hitter and First Baseman who played in the majors for 20 years playing in 2,408 games for the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox. He batted 8,640 times from the left side with 2,472 hits, 541 home runs, 1,768 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .286. He was born on November 18, 1975 in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional. His nickname is "Big Papi or Cookie Monster."
