Dennis Joseph Brouthers
Dan Brouthers was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1945 as a Player by the Old Timers. Dan was a First Baseman who played in the majors for 19 years playing in 1,673 games. Dan pitched left-handed in 4 games totalling 23 innings with 8 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 7.83. He batted 6,711 times from the left side with 2,296 hits, 106 home runs, 1,296 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .342. He was born on May 8, 1858 in Sylvan Lake, NY. His nickname was "Big Dan." Dan went to his Field of Dreams on August 2, 1932.
