Cy Young was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 76.1 percent of the vote that year. Cy was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 22 years playing in 918 games. Cy pitched right-handed in 906 games totalling 7,356 innings with 2,803 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.63. He batted 2,960 times from the right side with 623 hits, 18 home runs, 290 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .210. He was born on March 29, 1867 in Gilmore, OH. His nickname was "Cyclone." Cy went to his Field of Dreams on November 4, 1955.
