Christopher Mathewson

Christy Mathewson was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 90.7 percent of the vote that year. Christy was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 17 years playing in 647 games. Christy pitched right-handed in 636 games totalling 4,788 innings with 2,507 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.13. He batted 1,687 times from the right side with 362 hits, 7 home runs, 167 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .215. He was born on August 12, 1880 in Factoryville, PA. His nickname was "Big Six or Matty." Christy went to his Field of Dreams on October 7, 1925.
