James Augustus Hunter
Catfish Hunter was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 76.3 percent of the vote that year. Catfish was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 15 years playing in 515 games. Catfish pitched right-handed in 500 games totalling 3,449 innings with 2,012 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 3.26. He batted 658 times from the right side with 149 hits, 6 home runs, 51 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .226. He was born on April 8, 1946 in Hertford, NC. His nickname was "Jim." Catfish went to his Field of Dreams on September 9, 1999.
