Burleigh Arland Grimes
Burleigh Grimes was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1964 as a Player by the Veteran's Committee. Burleigh was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 19 years playing in 632 games. Burleigh pitched right-handed in 616 games totalling 4,180 innings with 1,512 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 3.53. He batted 1,535 times from the right side with 380 hits, 2 home runs, 168 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .248. He was born on August 18, 1893 in Emerald, WI. His nickname was "Ol' Stubblebeard." Burleigh went to his Field of Dreams on December 6, 1985.
