Billy Leo Williams

Billy Williams was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 85.7 percent of the vote that year. Billy was a Leftfielder and First Baseman who played in the majors for 18 years playing in 2,488 games for the Chicago Cubs and Oakland Athletics. He batted 9,350 times from the left side with 2,711 hits, 426 home runs, 1,475 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .290. He was born on June 15, 1938 in Whistler, AL. His nickname is "Sweet Swingin' Billy from Whistler."
