Billy Hamilton was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1961 as a Player by the Veteran's Committee. Billy was a Outfielder who played in the majors for 14 years playing in 1,594 games. He batted 6,283 times from the left side with 2,164 hits, 40 home runs, 742 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .344. He was born on February 15, 1866 in Newark, NJ. His nickname was "Sliding Billy." Billy went to his Field of Dreams on December 15, 1940.
