William Boyd McKechnie
Bill McKechnie was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962 as a Manager by the Veteran's Committee. Bill was a Third Baseman, Second Baseman and First Baseman who played in the majors for 11 years playing in 846 games. He batted 2,843 times as a switch hitter with 713 hits, 8 home runs, 240 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .251. He was born on August 7, 1886 in Wilkinsburg, PA. His nickname was "Deacon." Bill went to his Field of Dreams on October 29, 1965.
