Al Spalding was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939 as a Pioneer/Executive by the Old Timers. Al was a Pitcher, Centerfielder and First Baseman who played in the majors for 8 years playing in 411 games. Al pitched right-handed in 347 games totalling 2,886 innings with 248 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.13. He batted 1,959 times from the right side with 613 hits, 2 home runs, 338 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .313. He was born on September 2, 1850 in Byron, IL. Al went to his Field of Dreams on September 9, 1915.
