Babe Ruth was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 95.1 percent of the vote that year. Babe was a Outfielder and Pitcher who played in the majors for 22 years playing in 2,503 games for the New York Yankees and Boston Braves. Babe pitched left-handed in 163 games totalling 1,221 innings with 488 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.28. He batted 8,399 times from the left side with 2,873 hits, 714 home runs, 2,214 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .342. He was born on February 6, 1895 in Baltimore, MD. His nickname was "Babe, The Bambino, The Sultan Of Swat or Jidge." Babe went to his Field of Dreams on August 16, 1948.
