James Francis Galvin

Pud Galvin was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1965 as a Player by the Veteran's Committee. Pud was a Pitcher and Outfielder who played in the majors for 15 years playing in 731 games. Pud pitched right-handed in 705 games totalling 6,003 innings with 1,807 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 2.85. He batted 2,748 times from the right side with 552 hits, 5 home runs, 220 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .201. He was born on December 25, 1856 in St. Louis, MO. His nickname was "Pud, Gentle Jeems or The Little Steam Engine." Pud went to his Field of Dreams on March 7, 1902.
