Nellie Fox was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997 as a Player by the Veteran's Committee. Nellie was a Second Baseman who played in the majors for 19 years playing in 2,367 games. He batted 9,232 times from the left side with 2,663 hits, 35 home runs, 790 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .288. He was born on December 25, 1927 in St. Thomas, PA. His nickname was "Mighty Mite." Nellie went to his Field of Dreams on December 1, 1975.
