Robert Moses Grove

Lefty Grove was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 76.4 percent of the vote that year. Lefty was a Pitcher who played in the majors for 17 years playing in 619 games for the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox. Lefty pitched left-handed in 616 games totalling 3,940 innings with 2,266 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 3.06. He batted 1,369 times from the left side with 202 hits, 15 home runs, 121 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .148. He was born on March 6, 1900 in Lonaconing, MD. Lefty went to his Field of Dreams on May 22, 1975.
