James Henry O'Rourke
Jim O'Rourke was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1945 as a Player by the Old Timers. Jim was a Outfielder, Catcher and First Baseman who played in the majors for 23 years playing in 1,999 games. Jim pitched right-handed in 6 games totalling 19 innings with 4 strikeouts and recorded a career ERA of 4.12. He batted 8,503 times from the right side with 2,639 hits, 62 home runs, 1,208 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .310. He was born on September 1, 1850 in Bridgeport, CT. His nickname was "Orator Jim." Jim went to his Field of Dreams on January 8, 1919.
