James Leroy Bottomley

Jim Bottomley was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974 as a Player by the Veteran's Committee. Jim was a First Baseman who played in the majors for 16 years playing in 1,991 games. He batted 7,471 times from the left side with 2,313 hits, 219 home runs, 1,422 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .310. He was born on April 23, 1900 in Oglesby, IL. His nickname was "Sunny Jim." Jim went to his Field of Dreams on December 11, 1959.
