Henry Benjamin Greenberg

Hank Greenberg was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1956 as a Player by the BBWAA receiving 85.0 percent of the vote that year. Hank was a First Baseman and Leftfielder who played in the majors for 13 years playing in 1,394 games for the Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He batted 5,193 times from the right side with 1,628 hits, 331 home runs, 1,274 RBIs, and recorded a career batting average of .313. He was born on January 1, 1911 in New York, NY. His nickname was "Hammerin' Hank." Hank went to his Field of Dreams on September 4, 1986.
